  213. At this time of the year, when the power lines dry out in the
  214. country and after a relatively cold winter, I find that the
  215. power line noise starts back up.  The noise blanker on the
  216. Argosy does kill the noise with very little degradation of
  217. the desired signal.
  218.  
  219. The power company is very good about coming out and fixing the
  220. problem(s) when I report them.  Once you establish a communication
  221. link with someone in the power company, treat them with respect,
  222. and prove that you are not some bozo just causing trouble, they
  223. will listen to you.  People who act like jerks get treated in
  224. the same manner.
